In May 2025, four festivals in the Netherlands will welcome international guests from the performing arts sector. They will take part in visitors’ programmes supported by the Performing Arts Fund NL, with funding from the International Cultural Policy of the Dutch Ministries of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), and Foreign Affairs. The festivals themselves organise the programmes and invite their guests.
These visitors’ programmes aim to increase the international visibility of Dutch performing arts. International presenters, producers, and other professionals are offered a multi-day programme including performances, networking events, and meetings with Dutch artists and companies. The focus is on artistic exchange and building sustainable connections.

Festivals with visitors’ programmes in May:
Circusstad Festival – Rotterdam (1–2 May)
This festival focuses on the circus genre, often in combination with dance and theatre. The Dutch Circus Showcase is the centrepiece of the programme. Around fifty international guests – primarily presenters from Europe, with strong representation from Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom – will attend the festival with support from the Fund.
CaDance Festival – The Hague (16–18 May)
CaDance, organized by Korzo, is dedicated to contemporary dance. The visitors’ programme kicks off on 16 May with a Makers’ Day. Scheduled meetings include choreographers and performers such as Astrid Boons, Camiel Corneille, Zino Schat, Constantin Trommlitz, and Faizah Grootens. Ten guests from countries including Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom will participate.
SPRING Performing Arts Festival – Utrecht (23–26 May)
SPRING presents innovative forms of theatre, dance, and performance. Fifteen guests from Asia and Eastern Europe will follow an intensive programme that includes performances and a networking brunch with Dutch performing artists from both within and beyond the festival line-up.
O. Festival for Opera. Music. Theatre. – Rotterdam (27–29 May)
O. focuses on music theatre and interdisciplinary work, with the human voice as its starting point. The visitors’ programme includes a conference, networking events (including Music Theatre Now), a makers’ lab, and performance visits. Featured makers include Silbersee, Rajae El Mouhandiz, Annelinde Bruijs, Floor Houwink ten Cate, Andrea Voets, Robin Coops, and Nicole Beutler. The Fund is supporting the participation of 25 international guests, complemented by ten emerging makers from various countries through the international Creative Connectors programme.
